Weather Photography has always fascinated me - the weather in general does anyway, but capturing those changes, shifts in atmosphere and so on have always had me in awe. However when browsing the latest news within popular photography early this week I was stunned by an image that NASA had captured of hurricane Isaac as it lurked over the USA. I've been in a hurricane before, but it never felt as organised or precise as this image shows. This shows a smooth beautiful cloud formation. When below it's likely wreaking havoc and destroying lives. It's difficult to match the two together and contemplate them as the same thing. Hello!
My name is Alexandra. I'm a digital illustrator, fan artist and photography enthusiast.
I'm also one of the Fan Art Community Volunteers and a Mentor in the Community Relations team.
My style has been changing a lot for the past few months as I've been experimenting with different ways to create my art.
Lately I've been influenced a lot by Adventure Time and Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra.
However, my main goal is to focus on children's books illustration.

In my opinion, one of the greatest advantages to the New Submission Process, are the thumbnail examples and descriptions that appear when you're selecting a category. It's no secret that we have misplaced deviations throughout the galleries and it's probably the most complained about topic I deal with on a daily basis. My team and I have been working hard to improve the descriptions and thumbnail examples for all of the galleries, and I'm happy

Make a Difference #172Artists join deviantART to share their art and appreciate others. Due to the many artists out there, it's easy to get towed under and generally obscured from the public.
Make a Difference aims to do exactly that. This series of articles will hopefully make a difference to you as well as the artists featured weekly. Just by giving one minute of your time to write constructive comments, favourites and even watches will make a difference to these artists.

There are still lots of slots for people to submit articles too! Don't forget, we can have more than one article on the same day! Please get those proposals in! Who is your favourite author? What Book/Poem has had the most influence on you? Bring it on!
24/08/12: Hey guys, we're still looking to fill this up nice and meaty! Don't forget, the articles don't have to be as in depth as some of you are thinking and can be about specific authors, styles or even something different such as interviews or chat event (get your lit group involved!).
If you're not sure about your idea, please still send it in, we have a wonderful crack commando unit who are helping for crimes they didn't commit in the backroom. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, you can use this team!
